Just realised from this I could have done a top ten, too! Lots there I've read - possess, even. I am a Camera overlooked so often. I remember when Cabaret first came to the London stage (with the incomparable Judi Dench) thinking "That's awfully like..." and being staggered when I found out it actually was. (Yes, I'm that old.)

Well said. There´s been too much ´sour grapes´ by certain people. Do the Oscars committee have to explain why Toy Story 3 didnºt get nominated for Best Film?

And of course, possibly the most famous, "The Moonspinners", made into a film with Peter McEnery, Sheila Hancock, Hayley Mills, John Le Mesurier and more. Turned me onto Mary Stewart, whom I then read for ever more - even the Arthur novels!

Stephen: I know that Wordsworth reprint series well. I'm out of date with them, though. I was so pleased when they brought back Dennis Wheatley.

Wordsworth Press do a series reprinting ghost and horror fiction from the Victorian and Edwardian era. There are some good single author collections as well as some anthologies. They are a modest £2.99 in price and are worth seeking out.

I would recommend 'Airs above the Ground', about a horse which is not what it appears to be. Well, it is, it's a horse, but..ah. Good book.
